Science stance
Athlete-facing stance: a deterministic sports-science engine owns the numbers; constrained AI narrates them. We point at shipped methods — we do not invent papers or formulas in marketing copy.
ADR-0007 in plain language
Engine owns numbers. AI narrates.
Every fitness, fatigue, form, zone, fueling, readiness, and load figure comes from a tested domain core. The language layer sits on top — explanation, conversation, plan drafting — and is never the source of a number.
That is why “why this session?” can be answered with grounded signals instead of a fluent guess. For the product rule behind that split, see why every recommendation has to show its work. For the public list of models we actually ship, open the methods note.
Whole athlete
More than a ride-file coach
Ride files matter. They are not the whole athlete. Nutrition — including energy-availability awareness — wellness, strength, mobility, and compliance sit beside power data so the prescription reflects how you actually show up today.
That is the whole-athlete gap ride-only tools leave open. Koyaro keeps train, fuel, recover, and race in one coach loop rather than bolting chat onto an analytics silo.
Health guardrails
Less training can be the smart call
Overreaching and low energy availability are not growth hacks. The system is designed to surface when easing intensity or removing hard work is the protective call — and to show the signals behind that call.
Screening language on the product methods note stays engine-owned (for example REDs / LEA framing as screening, not a clinical diagnosis). We do not paste uncited constants or invent formulas here — cite the engine and KB keys that already ship.
Anti-claims
What we refuse to say
No fake combined TSS. Run-load ≠ Swim-load ≠ bike TSS. Form is per sport; Banister Form applies to run/swim load signatures — not a claim that bike Today Form is Banister. We do not invent a single blended “triathlon fitness” CTL. Day totals, if shown, are operational load only.
No triathlon coach claim. Cycling remains the wedge. Coach-desk run/swim load on Today/calendar is product-real; that is not coaching parity with the bike, and not a Fitness-hub PMC that already switches sport.
No LLM-invented metrics. Fluency is not physiology. If a recommendation cannot cite the engine, it does not belong in the product.
Trust is the product.
