Athlete summary
A lab test that reports peak sprint power (PPO), maximal aerobic power (MAP) from a ramp, and power at the second lactate threshold (P_LT2) can sketch your 30-second-to-60-minute power curve — useful when you do not yet have enough all-out field efforts.
Koyaro uses that sketch only to fill holes on your mean-maximal curve. If you already have an all-out 3-minute or 20-minute from rides, that field number stays. Estimated FTP from a ride (eFTP) still comes from field MMP, not from this lab curve.
Intensity domains also read the same lab file: VT1 / LT1 as the moderate→heavy turn, CP or P_LT2 as heavy→severe, MAP as the top of severe (power at V̇O2max). Unordered or missing landmarks are skipped — we do not invent a threshold.
Fatigued-VT1 prediction needs a logged baseline VT1 and V̇O2peak. Without both, that model stays silent.
Engine formulas (Wahl & Ji 2026)
Cite-locked piecewise exponential. Mean Study-1 decay constants (external validation path; n=75 independent athletes, ICC ≈ 0.99, bias 0 ± 18 W):
Worked example (paper typical athlete): PPO = 1271 W, MAP = 508 W, P_LT2 = 383 W → PO(180 s) = 520 W, PO(1200 s) = 400 W.
Need all three of PPO, MAP, P_LT2, and P_LT2 < MAP < PPO. Individual k is not fitted from field MMP (the paper found only a modest gain vs mean k).
What this is not
| Concern | Owner |
|---|---|
| Field MMP / OmPD when all-out efforts exist | Ride power curve + eFTP |
| Auto-applied CP/W′ | Accepted multi-effort fit only |
| CdA / Crr / TT physics | |
| Plan bias from lab trends | |
| Fatigued VT1 from decoupling |
